Information for granting, refusing and maintaining initial certification

The information provided by the audit team to the Sharia/Technical committee for the certification decision include, as a minimum –

a) the audit reports
b) comments on the nonconformities and, as applicable, correction &corrective actions taken by client
a) confirmation of the information provided to the certification body used in the application review
b) a recommendation whether or not to grant certification, together with any conditions or observations. JUHHT makes the certification decision on the basis of an evaluation of the audit findings and conclusions and any other relevant information (e.g. public information, comments on the audit report from the client).

Suspending, withdrawing, reducing or restoring the scope of certification

JUHHT has established policies and documented procedures for suspension, withdrawal or reduction of the scope of certification. The procedure specifies the conditions for suspension, withdrawal, or reduction of scope and also specifies conditions for revocation.

JUHHT suspends certification in cases when -

• the client's certified HAS system has persistently or seriously failed to meet certification requirements
• the client’s management system has persistently lost the effectiveness of the management system
• the certified client does not allow surveillance or recertification audits to be conducted at the required frequencies
• the certified client has voluntarily requested a suspension.

Under suspension, the client's management system certification is declared temporarily invalid. JUHHT makes enforceable agreement with its clients to ensure that in case of suspension the client refrains from further promotion of its certification. JUHHT makes the suspended status of the certification publicly accessible by publishing its name in the list of those organizations whose certificates have been suspended.

JUHHT has informed its client that failure to resolve the issues that have resulted in the suspension, within a time limit (3 months) defined by JUHHT, would result in withdrawal or reduction of the scope of certification.
